Knobs for surface mounted "box locks"
Rim knobs are required when surface mounted "box locks" known as rim locks are fitted to your doors. One half of the pair of knobs has a threaded spindle attached to it with no backplate. This half is fitted to the rim lock, while the other half has a backplate attached to it which allows for fitting to the other side of the door.
